20th Annual Venture Capital and Private Equity Conference
Welcome to the 20th Annual Harvard Business School Venture Capital and Private Equity Conference, one of the largest and most anticipated student-run conferences on the HBS campus. Each year, hundreds of industry professionals, students, alumni, and faculty gather to share their knowledge and experiences. By bringing together a diverse group of talented individuals, the HBS Venture Capital and Private Equity Club hopes to initiate a broad range of debates about the key trends affecting the industry today and into the future.
We are thrilled to be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the conference this year. Our hope is that our keynote speakers, dynamic panels, and interactive networking sessions will spark productive dialogue and provide a setting for professional networks to grow, as they have for the past 20 years.
Though the format of the conference has stayed largely the same over time, we are always working hard to make improvements to the agenda. This year we have introduced several new exciting panel topics: Investing in Africa, Family Offices, Corporate Venture Capital, and Women in Private Equity. We believe all four of these topics are incredibly relevant to today's investing landscape and look forward to engaging in discussion.
We are excited to welcome three of the leaders shaping the future of private equity and venture capital as our keynote speakers this year: David Rubenstein, Joe Baratta, and Chamath Palihapitiya. We greatly appreciate their time and look forward to learning from their insights on both the current and future state of the industry.
We are also grateful to the more than 100 panelists and moderators who will exchange ideas and present their perspectives throughout the conference's 16 panel discussions. The panels address a range of today's most relevant topics, from growth equity investing and fundraising to geography specific investment opportunities. We are extremely thankful to the panelists, moderators, and panel organizers for making this conference a truly comprehensive overview of the topics in private equity and venture capital.
Without the generous support of our Platinum Sponsors, EY, Goodwin Procter, and Kirkland & Ellis, this conference would not be so successful. Their thought leadership exemplifies the spirit of our conference, and their substantial network is integral to making this weekend such a valuable opportunity to build relationships.
We wish to extend a special thanks to the Harvard Business School faculty and staff for their support and dedication in creating this event. The conference is the culmination of months of planning by the Conference Executive Committee and many team members, all of whom contributed large amounts of personal time to help ensure the conference's success. We hope you enjoy the conference, and leave feeling more informed, more connected, and more excited for the opportunities that lie ahead.
